What am I making up today?

Weekends are my "me time". This is the time I've set aside to work on the projects I want to make and I get to quilt my own projects if I don't have another quilt on the frame.

Currently, I have 2 big recurring projects in the works. Starting back in November, I followed along with Bonnie Hunter and her Grassy Creek Mystery. I'm still on the second to last step, trying to sew a few of those pieces each day. This is a big queen size quilt and it will take me a little while to work through it. But I enjoy the "zen" of quilting, so I'm happy to work on it a little bit at a time. I am anxious to get it all together, though, it will be a fun one to quilt. Did you make one too? Did you see I'm offering 10% off if you'd like me to quilt it for you.

My other ongoing project is the Wanda Quilt Along with Gudrun Erla of GE Designs. This pattern is from her new book Stripology Mixology 2 and it's the cover photo. What a fun quilt to make and there is so little waste. I'm trying really hard to follow along and not jump ahead, but her instructions in the book are so good! This week our "assignment" is to make the sashing strips. I'll see how much time I get, but we're expecting a snow storm and I'm hoping that means I will have a lot of time to sew. In these pictures you can see the steps so far and my colors. It's going to be so pretty! Another one I'm anxious to quilt.

Ok, so that's not all. It never is. I probably have 10 projects in some state of waiting to be finished. I'll wait to post them as I get a chance to work on them. There are a couple of baby quilts, a Christmas tree, a housewarming quilt for my cousin, class projects to finally finish, and more quilt alongs! Just when I think I'm done with QAL's and I'll take some time to work on other things, some quilt designer will come up with another one that I just have to do!

Oh, and Gudrun just announced a virtual retreat with an exclusive pattern. Yep, you guessed it, I'm in! That will be at the end of March. Guess I better do get to quiltin'!
